SUMMARY

A Fiber Planner is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of optical fiber materials, including receiving, inventory control, production planning, staging, and issuing materials to manufacturing lines. This role ensures fiber is accurately accounted for in both physical inventory and system records, while supporting efficient production flow and minimizing material waste.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following:

· Receive incoming fiber materials into inventory and verify against purchase orders

· Record and maintain accurate inventory transactions in the system

· Close out purchase orders in the system once materials are received and verified

· Translate production schedules into executable manufacturing jobs

· Create and manage production orders within the system

· Allocate, stage, and issue optical fiber to production lines based on job requirements

· Physically deliver and issue materials to production areas as needed

· Update the system in real time to reflect material movement and consumption

· Prepare job packets, travelers, and production documentation

· Monitor fiber utilization and optimize usage to reduce scrap and improve yield

· Coordinate inventory transfers between warehouse, staging areas, and production floor

· Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation, and audits

· Support production scheduling to ensure material availability and on-time delivery

· Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams

· Identify and utilize available inventory, including WIP and aged materials

· Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and operational procedures

· Support continuous improvement initiatives in inventory accuracy and material flow

· Perform other duties as assigned.
