Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Part-Time Temporary Program Specialist. The part-time temporary staff will train and instruct current Physical Therapy admissions specialist in all admissions processes for the Doctorate (DPT) program in the Physical Therapy Department, and will serves as the primary source of training for department/university tours, transcript and application document review, GPA calculations, application management, and maintenance of admissions records with PTCAS and WebAdmit. This trainer is expected to exercise significant initiative, independent judgment, and discretion while providing comprehensive training on admissions-related responsibilities. The part-time temporary staff trainer will also attend admissions committee meetings. 19 hours weekly is preferred for this part-time temporary position.

Responsibilities
  • Will train current admissions staff member in evaluating transcripts and referring students to faculty Admissions Committee for interviews and possible acceptance into the program. Will train staff in PTCAS (Physical Therapy Centralized Application System), and score applications for admissions committee review.
  • Will train current admissions staff to coordinate open houses for department and conduct tours of PT Department with applicant and parents
  • Will train current admissions staff to work collaboratively with DPT Admissions Committee and other university departments (including, but not limited to, Financial Aid, Student Health Services, Graduate Admissions, Undergrad Admissions, Business Office, Card Services, academic departments, IT, student groups such as Rho Tau, GSS, and class officers).
  • Will train current admissions staff to coordinate interviews for all perspective students with the DPT Admissions Committee; confirming time of interview for both potential students and faculty and clinicians to meet.
  • Will train current admissions staff in collecting student confirmation fee before entering the program, working closely with the business office to ensure proper credit is given to student's account.
  • Will train current admissions staff in communications with university faculty advisors in other departments regarding pre-requisites and requirements. Will train incumbent DPT admissions staff to verify prerequisites are complete and collect copies of immunizations and transcripts from new students.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of office/administrative practices, procedures, technological systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with the University System standards and polices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be extremely organized, thorough, detail-oriented, and set priorities. self-motivator.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Travel to area schools and universities for promotion of program.
  • UNG Admissions experience required.
  • Experience with collection and maintenance of records/database systems and use of essential math-based skills required

Preferred Qualifications
  • PTCAS system/ Banner skills preferred.
  • Experience evaluating transcripts or student affairs experience preferred.
  • WebAdmit experience preferred.

Proposed Salary
  • The proposed salary range is: $21.20-$23.32 hour.
