Part-Time Technical Recruiter
About The GBS Group
The GBS Group is a small, woman-owned business based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, providing engineering and technical services to clients in the naval, maritime, and rail industries.
Position Overview
The Recruiter will support the talent acquisition process by assisting with candidate sourcing, screening, and coordination of hiring activities within a dynamic technical services environment.
This will be a remote position, with occasional requirements to meet in the Virginia Beach office. Hours can be flexible.
Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Candidate Engagement
• Source candidates through job boards including passive candidate identification
• Conduct initial phone screens to assess candidate qualifications and alignment with role requirements
• Communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting process to ensure a positive candidate experience
Coordination & Process Support
• Schedule and coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
• Extending employment offers
• Support pre-employment processes, including background checks
• Schedule new-hires for orientation
Systems & Administration
• Maintain accurate and organized candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
• Manage and update job postings
• Assist with recruiting-related research, including salary benchmarking
Qualifications
Required Skills & Abilities
• Three (3) or more years of experience recruiting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build professional rapport with candidates quickly
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
• Prior recruiting experience in the engineering / technical services field
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily home-based, with extended periods of sitting, computer and phone use
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing needs
