Description

About Alvarez & Marsal

Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a global consulting firm with over 10,000 entrepreneurial, action and results-oriented professionals in over 40 countries. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry. The collaborative environment and engaging work—guided by A&M's core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity—are why our people love working at A&M.

The Team

Alvarez & Marsal's Corporate Performance Improvement practice is looking for an Infrastructure Program Manager to serve as day-to-day execution lead on complex, multi-workstream infrastructure transformation engagements. This role drives schedule management, workstream coordination, risk tracking, and vendor management. This is not a PMO coordinator role - it requires someone who can manage through technical complexity while maintaining executive-level reporting discipline.

Experience Should Include

  • Large program schedule management across Data Center, infrastructure, cloud, and network workstreams

  • Risk/issue tracking, milestone management, and escalation protocols

  • Vendor coordination across multiple contractors and managed service providers

  • Operational and financial reporting - flash reports, month-end financials, metrics/KPIs, project portfolio tracking

  • Agile and DevSecOps process management

  • AI-assisted project scheduling, risk analytics, and automated status reporting - baseline competency with AI-assisted tools expected; candidates should articulate how AI accelerates program delivery

How you will contribute

  • Manage day-to-day execution of infrastructure transformation workstreams - schedule, resources, dependencies, and deliverables

  • Lead creation and maintenance of key operational and financial reports - status updates, milestone tracking, risk/issue logs, and financial performance dashboards

  • Coordinate across technical workstreams (architecture, cloud, network, security) and business workstreams (finance, workforce, governance)

  • Partner with procurement and vendor management to track contractor performance and negotiate cost-effective solutions

  • Manage teams of 20–50 people across complex technical change programs

  • Support practice development through methodology contribution and team mentoring

Qualifications

  • 8-12+ years of professional experience in program management for infrastructure or technology transformation

  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience delivering multi-year infrastructure programs on schedule and within budget

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Federal program management experience helpful but not required - demonstrated delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environments is the primary qualifier

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Comfortable with travel up to 80%

  • Full-time, contract, and project-based engagements available

What Distinguishes a Great Candidate

A delivery leader who manages through complexity, not around it. Has earned technical credibility with engineering teams while maintaining executive-level reporting discipline. Doesn't just track status - drives resolution and results.
