Preschool Speech Language Pathologist - Part Time (0.5 FTE)
The speech language pathologist creates and implements documented IEP plans, protocols, and services. This position is responsible for providing direct speech instruction, documenting student progress toward meeting established objectives, and reporting out this information to parents and District members of the IEP team. The speech language pathologist provides direct instruction to prescool students, prepares materials and performs clerical duties as related to the documentation of services, prepares therapy materials and/or equipment for use in the classroom, adapts or modifies instructional materials and/or equipment as determined by student need and ability, and provides oversight of speech assistants.
Position
Under the supervision of the Director of Special Education and Main Street School Principal. This individual will provide recommendations, programming, direct services, and conduct evaluations and write reports. A successful candidate must hold certification as a speech language pathologist. The individual should understand the special education process, possess strong writing and grammar skills, and be able to use word processing.
Essential Job Functions
Works with preschool students individually or in small groups to provide direct instruction, conduct progress monitoring and complete speech language evaluations.
Participate as a team member in the comprehensive evaluation, review, and reevaluation process.
Participate in the development of student IEP's.
Produce accurate progress reports based on clear data.
Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and others concerning the needs of students and special services that are available.
Monitor student progress and make informed, timely educational decisions.
Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
Develop speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students
Collaborate with related services staff and carries out services as order.
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of working with students in an evaluation situation.
Requires current certification as speech language pathologist

Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
