Role description:
Arcadis is seeking an Electrical Engineer, with strong background in the water-wastewater industry, to join our Resilience Water team. This hybrid role can be based in any of our Ohio locations or Detroit, MI.
The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical and design consulting services with a focus on electrical power distribution, electrical controls, lighting, and communications, to support projects for the Water Division.
Role accountabilities:
This role will serve as Arcadis' main point of contact for clients' electrical needs and support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater facilities and similar industrial projects. This position will assist in developing project management skills, including managing project budgets, coordinating delivery schedules, and ensuring successful execution of scope, schedule, and budget. Other duties include:
  • Perform electrical design and coordination tasks with focus on power distribution, lighting systems, communication systems, fire alarm systems and control systems
  • Utilize CAD software (Autodesk and Bentley products) for electrical system design and documentation
  • Establish design criteria and perform design calculations
  • Develop electrical design documents including one-line diagrams, control schematics, electrical plans and specifications
  • Provide engineering services during construction, review equipment submittals and shop drawings and respond to contractor RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Conduct field inspections to identify deviations from design and ensure safety compliance during construction
  • Perform electrical system analysis using tools such as ETAP, SKM Power Tools and other power systems analysis software
  • Travel as required to meet project needs

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE).
