Description
Nampa Christian Schools, through a Christ-centered partnership with families and Churches, exists to glorify God with our HEART, HEAD, and HANDS. The Preschool Secretary will partner in the discipleship and instruction of students to provide a high quality education with the Gospel and a Biblical Worldview as its foundation.
Position Type
  • This position is an hourly, part-time, year-round position.
  • Pay based on experience.

Requirements
The Secretary plays a vital role in the smooth and efficient operation of Nampa Christian Preschool. This position serves as the primary administrative support for the Principal, staff, parents, and students, ensuring effective communication, organization, and a welcoming atmosphere. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, be proficient in office software, and demonstrate a commitment to the NCS Mission and Vision.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
  • Manage and maintain accurate student records (enrollment, attendance, medical, contact information, etc.) with strict confidentiality.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, emails, and phone calls, professionally and courteously.
  • Prepare and distribute newsletters, announcements, calendars, and other communications to parents and staff.
  • Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical) for all Preschool documents.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and meetings for the Principal.
  • Order and maintain office supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Maintain a tidy and welcoming front office area.
  • Seve as the point person for LTKC (Little Trojans Kid Club) pre-registered sign-ups, tracking availability, processing parent requests, and keeping registration information current.
Parent and Visitor Relations
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for parents, visitors, and prospective families, providing a warm and helpful welcome.
  • Answer general inquiries and provide information about the Preschool.
  • Assist with the enrollment process, including scheduling family interviews and collecting required documentation.
  • Maintain positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders.
Communication
  • Facilitate effective communication between the Principal, teachers, and parents.
Support for Staff
  • Support the Principal with various projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proven experience (2+ years preferred) in an administrative or secretarial role, ideally in an educational or church setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to living out Christian values.
  • Prior experience with student information systems or database management is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to use a computer and phone extensively.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to navigate the preschool facility.
