How many hours a day can you drive transporting RVs?

Parttime RV transport drivers typically drive for a few hours per day, often limited by hours-of-service regulations that generally restrict drivers to 8-11 hours of driving within a 24-hour period. These regulations are designed to ensure safety and prevent fatigue, and drivers may work flexible schedules depending on the job and company policies.

How to become a RV transport driver?

To become a part-time RV transport driver, you typically need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and experience driving large vehicles or trucks. Some employers may require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or specialized training in vehicle transport. Physical fitness and the ability to handle long hours on the road are also important.

Is RV transport a good career?

RV transport as a career involves driving recreational vehicles over long distances, often requiring a commercial driver's license (CDL) and good driving skills. It can offer flexible schedules and the opportunity to travel, but it also involves long hours, time away from home, and physical demands. Whether it is a good career depends on individual preferences for travel, independence, and work conditions.

How much do RV delivery drivers make per mile?

RV delivery drivers typically earn between $1.00 and $2.00 per mile, depending on factors such as experience, distance, and company policies. Part Time - Class A CDL Drivers for Amazon Freight Partner (2 day tour)
Compensation: 24.00 to 26.00/hour take-home pay
Consistent Weekly Schedule!
Location: Baltimore
At GIFT Transport, we believe that transportation is more than moving freight - it's about moving purpose. Our higher purpose is to deliver reliability, safety, and care in every mile, building trust with our partners and pride within our drivers. We exist to create opportunity through motion - empowering our team to grow personally and professionally while ensuring every shipment we move reflects excellence, responsibility, and heart.
We do what we do because our work connects communities, fuels businesses, and supports families. Every load we haul represents someone's livelihood, someone's promise, and someone's future. That's what drives us to be the best fleet on the road.
What you'll do:
  • Haul Amazon loads (primarily no touch freight) using state of the art Amazon-branded equipment and technology, including brand new sleeper cabs
  • Service round-trip routes for a 2 day on the road shift.
  • Play an important and respected role in keeping Amazon's commitment to exceed customer expectations and deliver packages on time and at the right place

Why you'll love working for an Amazon Freight Partner:
  • Consistent Schedules: You will work a 2 day work week, with consistent work all year and have opportunities for additional shifts and more overtime.
  • Home Time: You will be away from home no more than two days, enabling you to spend more time with family and friends.
  • Predictable Earnings: With hourly pay and consistent schedules, you'll have earnings that you can count on. We offer competitive pay starting at 24.00/hour.

What you'll need:
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL)
  • Must successfully Pass DOT Physical
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to communicate with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records
  • No current CDL suspension or revocation
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) & good DAC Report
  • Must be able to use handheld technology and smart phone applications such as GPS

You will not be employed by Amazon, instead, you will be working directly for a local transportation company that partners with Amazon.
