Job Title: Part Time Employment Transportation Driver
Department: Transportation Services
Essential Job Functions:
The Part-Time DSP Driver provides safe transportation and direct support to individuals up to 29hours/week; while promoting independence, dignity, and participation in community-based employment.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Safely transport supported individuals to and from scheduled destinations using company vehicles or personal vehicles.
  • Support individuals according to their Person-Centered Plan, Behavior Support Plan (if applicable), and Nursing Care Plan.
  • Assist supported persons on and off the vehicle when necessary.
  • Maintain company vehicles to ensure they are clean, safe, fueled, and ready for operation. If transporting in personal vehicle, must have own reliable, clean, smoke free transportation, with adequate insurance coverage. Must provide 3 year driving record with no more than 2 points on your record.
  • Follow all state and local driving laws and agency driving policies.
  • Immediately report accidents, incidents, violations, or maintenance concerns to a supervisor.
  • Complete required documentation including service notes in electronic system, transportation logs/mileage, and incident reports if needed.
  • Maintain professional relationships with individuals served, families, staff, and other professionals.
  • Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while encouraging participation in decision-making and daily activities.
  • Attend required trainings, team meetings, and supervision sessions.
  • Maintain current certifications including CPR/First Aid, Mandt System training, and Medication Technician certification if required.
  • Follow assigned schedules and respond to agency communication as needed to get individuals to and from work safely.
  • Check, and respond to emails daily to maintain proper communication
  • Must complete all required and assigned trainings. CPR / First Aid, Mandt Systems, medication technician certification must be refreshed within timelines and certification must have current status.
  • Staff will be required to utilize agency electronic systems for communication, progress notes, incident report filing, etc.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving requirements.
  • Clean driving record within the past three years (no more than three points).
  • Ability to safely operate agency vehicles and assist individuals entering and exiting vehicles.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to maintain professional conduct at all times.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced proficiency in ASL, with the ability to interpret and translate accurately.
Additional Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Director.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Training and Experience:
Preferred DDA core competencies, Mandt Systems Training, CPR / First Aid, MTTP.
Experience working with people with IDD/DD preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Person must be able to walk, stand, and sit for up to 6 hours. Person must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or more based on assigned supported person (using health and safety lifting / turning techniques or assistive devices).
Person must be able to successfully demonstrate all Mandt Systems training physical interventions and techniques, to include assisting supported person to standing, providing assistance with ambulation, physical releases, and physical restraints.
Qualifications:
Driver must be at least 21 years have a valid driver’s license with 3 years of driving experience with no more than 2 points.
