Position Title: Driver
Department: Department of Financial Services
Exempt Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Transportation Supervisor
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Transportation Driver will be responsible for transportation services provided
by the Community and that the services provided are to the satisfaction
of residents utilizing transportation services provided by the community.,
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Essential Job Duties:
(Other duties will be assigned as needed) Must be willing and able to do the following:
. Responsible for transporting residents to grocery store, monthly outings, and extended
trips as scheduled.
โ€ข Assist residents on and off bus/van, tracking attendance and coordinating
equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, canes etc.)
โ€ข Load groceries and other purchased items into bus/van
โ€ข Schedule and coordinate routine vehicle maintenance
โ€ข Clean and wash vehicle regularly
โ€ข Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position,
along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and
occupancy
โ€ข Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is
protection during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the
community: and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to
function in this position
โ€ข Follow written and oral directions
โ€ข Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information
โ€ข Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately
โ€ข Attend all in-services as assigned or requested
โ€ข Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meeting assigned or
requested
โ€ข Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families,
consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers
โ€ข Observe all community safety policies and procedures to ensure resident safety at
all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข High school diploma or GED required
โ€ข Minimum six (6) months experience as a bus/van driver required
โ€ข Must possess current and valid driver's license consistent with the requirements
determined by size of vehicle and laws of the state in which the driver is licensed
โ€ข Must possess personal driving record consistent with the requirements of the
Driver Selection Policy
โ€ข Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language
โ€ข Must be artistically creative, motivational, and energetic with a passion for
serving others
โ€ข Must possess patience and sensitivity to others' needs; ability to work with
community groups; willingness to work beyond normal working hours
โ€ข Familiarity with required electronics, including but not limited to iPads, tablets,
smart TVs, and digital cameras
โ€ข Good communication skills (oral and written)
โ€ข Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
โ€ข Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
Requirements
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
โ€ข Lifts and carries up to 100 lbs. with assistance occasionally
โ€ข Pushes and pulls up to 100 lbs. occasionally
โ€ข Climbs, reaches, bends and twists occasionally
โ€ข Talks and listens occasionally
โ€ข Sits 4 hours per day; stands and walks 4 hours per day (combined) - 8 hr. day
โ€ข Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions.
โ€ข Uses tools and equipment on the job such as: Personal computer, Bus, van, and
general automobile, Cellular phone, CB, and/or 2-way radio
