Job description

Description

About Bouldering Project

Bouldering Project is more than a climbing gym-we're a community. We're driven by a shared belief: that climbing, movement, and connection should be accessible to everyone. From first-timers to seasoned climbers, families to fitness enthusiasts, and our own teammates-we create inclusive, inspiring spaces where people move, grow, and belong. With world-class climbing, yoga and fitness offerings, and welcoming community spaces, we're proud to serve nine markets across the U.S.-and we're just getting started.

About the Role

Yoga Instructors at Bouldering Project lead intentional, inclusive, and inspiring classes that support the mind-body connection through breath and movement. This temporary role will help to help cover yoga classes when subs are needed. Instructors are responsible for developing thoughtful sequences that align with BP's yoga class formats, while cultivating a positive and welcoming studio environment for all participants. This role requires professionalism, safety awareness, and a community-focused attitude. Temporary status is evaluated 60 days after hire, and on a quarterly basis thereafter. Good standing will be evaluated based on frequency of subbing, with a requirement of a minimum of 3 classes/month.

What You'll Do

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support fellow instructors by subbing as needed, and coordinate sub coverage when unable to teach
  • Design and teach creative, well-sequenced classes that align with BP's offerings (e.g., Power Flow, Slow Flow, Restore, Sculpt, Vinyasa)
  • Clearly cue safe and dynamic asana postures, breathwork, and transitions, offering modifications for a variety of levels
  • Welcome all participants, including new students, and foster a community-centered class environment
  • Offer hands-on assists when appropriate and only with consent
  • Maintain professionalism by arriving early, starting and ending class on time, and upholding studio standards
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and proper care of yoga props and equipment
  • Respond to emergencies according to safety protocols and report incidents appropriately
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education sessions
  • Accurately check students into class and maintain class headcounts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What You'll Bring, Required Qualifications

  • YT 200 (Yoga Alliance) or equivalent training and experience
  • Current CPR/AED certification and basic first aid training
  • Minimum 1+ year experience teaching yoga classes
  • Strong communication and class management skills
  • Ability to serve a wide range of fitness levels and abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of yoga instruction experience
  • RYT 500 or E-RYT 200 designation
  • Experience teaching Power Flow, Yoga Sculpt, or Restore
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Exercise Science, Wellness)

We know not everyone will meet 100% of the qualifications-if this role excites you, we encourage you to apply.
