Job Overview

This position supports the work of the College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) Business Affairs office, which oversees and directs all financial and human resources for the college. The person selected for this role will gain valuable practical experience in business operations, human resources, and budgeting, working alongside the CCM Business Affairs team, the UC Foundation, and the Dean of CCM. They will have the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways while participating in inter-departmental communication and networking.

Primary Duties

The Student Associate position provides part-time employment opportunities within University of Cincinnati departments. This role offers students the chance to gain valuable work experience while supporting the operations and services of the university.

  • Perform a variety of administrative, operational, or program support tasks as assigned by the department, including running reports in UC Flex, creating reports for divisional use, and budget tracking.
  • Support departmental projects, events, and initiatives that enhance university programs or community engagement.
  • Operate standard office equipment and software applications in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student, departmental, and institutional information in accordance with university policies.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to providing quality service.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Minimum Requirements
  • Interest in business operations and finance.
  • Enrolled at a bachelor's program in finance, business, analytics, or related program.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
  • “Enrollment” shall include:
    • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
    • The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one (1) additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.

As a UC student employee of an Ohio public institution, you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare.
