To thrive in a part-time job, you generally need reliability, time management, and basic qualifications relevant to the specific industry, such as a high school diploma or customer service experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, scheduling software, or other role-specific tools may be required depending on the job. Why is Gen Z struggling to get jobs?

Gen Z job seekers often face challenges such as limited work experience, high competition, and employers' preference for candidates with specific skills or certifications. Additionally, economic factors and changing labor market demands can make it harder for young applicants to secure part-time jobs quickly.

What are common challenges faced in part-time jobs, and how can I overcome them?

One common challenge in part-time jobs is balancing work with other commitments such as studies, family, or another job. To overcome this, it's important to have clear communication with your employer about your availability and to manage your schedule effectively. Additionally, part-time roles may offer less training or fewer advancement opportunities, so proactively seeking feedback and expressing interest in additional responsibilities can help you grow professionally. Building strong relationships with your coworkers can also make it easier to swap shifts or ask for support when needed.
