Job description

We are seeking a part-time Ceramic Assistant with at least one year of experience in ceramics to support sculptural art projects. This role requires proficiency in working with clay and operating a kiln, with a highly flexible schedule offering 10-20 hours per week. The assistant will work along side a professional, handling tasks from clay preparation to studio cleanup and glazing, ensuring art pieces are crafted with care and precision.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare clay for sculptural art projects
  • Operate kiln safely and efficiently
  • Apply glazing techniques to ceramic pieces
  • Handle materials and supplies properly
  • Maintain a clean and organized studio environment
  • Build coils and shape clay using hand tools

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in ceramics

  • Clay modeling expertise
