Parts Manager


About the Role

The Parts Manager oversees all dealership parts operations including inventory control, staff supervision, financial performance, and vendor relationships. This role ensures accurate parts availability, strong internal support for Service, and excellent retail/wholesale customer service.


Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily parts operations and staff performance.
  • Oversee inventory accuracy, stocking levels, and obsolescence management.
  • Supervise shipping, receiving, and parts storage organization.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and negotiate pricing or terms.
  • Monitor gross profit performance and parts financial metrics.
  • Ensure timely warranty parts processing and documentation.
  • Support technicians by ensuring fast and accurate parts sourcing.
  • Track backorders and communicate updates to Service Advisors.
  • Conduct cycle counts and full inventory audits.
  • Maintain compliance with dealership, OEM, and safety standards.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of Parts employees.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers on efficiency improvements.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3+ years parts department experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and financial metrics.
  • Ability to build and motivate a high-performing team.


Work Environment

Indoor department environment with warehouse and counter responsibilities.
