Parts Manager Job Summary
Chevrolet of Milford is seeking an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to lead our Parts Department and deliver exceptional service to both our retail and wholesale customers. NON QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED OR ENTERTAINED.
Responsibilities
  • Developed extensive knowledge of manufacturer policies, procedures, warranty requirements, and parts return guidelines to ensure compliance, accurate warranty processing, and effective inventory control.
  • Managed inventory levels by maintaining accurate stock, reducing obsolescence, and implementing efficient inventory management practices.
  • Located, ordered, and supplied the correct parts, accessories, and merchandise while providing exceptional customer service to retail, wholesale, and service customers.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Parts Department.
  • Manage, train, and motivate parts department staff.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective ordering and inventory control.
  • Develop and grow the wholesale parts business by building and maintaining relationships with repair facilities and commercial accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer and technician parts requests.
  • Resolve customer concerns and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Monitor department performance, profitability, and key performance indicators.
  • Work closely with the service department to ensure efficient operations.
  • Monitored open purchase orders, invoices, and vendor accounts to ensure timely receiving, accurate billing, and effective coordination with the accounting department for financial statement accuracy.
  • Collaborated closely with the service department and cross-trained in service writing to improve communication, scheduling, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintained a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Controlled department profitability by managing inventory costs, negotiating vendor purchases, minimizing obsolete inventory, and improving purchasing efficiency.
  • Processed manufacturer warranty claims, warranty parts returns, core returns, and aged inventory returns in accordance with manufacturer policies and deadlines.
  • Ensured compliance with all company safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Recruited, trained, mentored, and supervised parts department personnel to improve productivity, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Maintained a clean, organized, and efficient parts department, ensuring accurate storage locations and inventory organization.
  • Oversee parts sourcing, inventory storage, bin locations, and cost controls to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Managed parts core inventory and ensured timely processing and reconciliation of all core returns and credits.
  • Performed and maintained accurate physical inventories of tires, oil, parts cores, and general inventory while resolving inventory discrepancies.
  • Utilized the Reynolds & Reynolds dealership management system to create, monitor, and reconcile purchase orders, ensuring all purchases were properly documented, matched to invoices, and processed accurately.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of automotive parts experience, preferably in a dealership environment.
  • Previous leadership or management experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GM parts and dealership operations is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with inventory management and wholesale parts sales.
  • Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems is preferred.
