POSITION TITLE:   Material Control Clerk                                             STATUS: Non-exemptDEPARTMENT:      Material Control
REPORTS TO:          Supply Chain/Logistics Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Material Control Clerk is responsible for the material in the Vault. This includes but is not limited to checking the metal in and out, tracking metal, organizing material, doing inventory, filling out reports, and filling in for Shipping/Receiving as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of essential functions/duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Processes production orders from the floor by counting and checking accuracy.
2. Receives incoming deliveries.
3. Packages orders securely.
4. Ships to address of customers using UPS, FedEx, LTL carriers or other acceptable means
of transportation as approved by management.
5. Manage MRP system and inventory area on the mezzanine.
6. Processes end-of-day reports.
7. Pulls and delivers stocking orders for internal departments.
8. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to accurately weigh coins and determine different sizes
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Must be bondable
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. consistently and move carts that could weigh several hundred lbs. up to 1400 lbs. through the plant. Assistance may be provided if a reasonable accommodation is required
  • Ability to accurately track material and fill out reports
  • Ability to stand for eight hours or more
  • Good organizational skills, sets priorities, meets deadlines, able to multi-task
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Experience in Shipping and Receiving, and Inventory Control
  • Frequent lifting of objects up to 25 pounds, bending, reaching above shoulder level, climbing stairs, pulling, typing, prolonged standing or sitting.
  • Some computer skills
  • Manufacturing knowledge
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate with all departments, co-workers and business contacts in a courteous and professional matter. Must be a team player
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to fill in for Shipping/Receiving as needed and perform all necessary functions of that position as well.
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED, and/or two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control. Manufacturing and forklift experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write, do basic math, and communicate effectively.
Work Environment:
The work environment is of moderate temperature, sterile environment with a moderately loud noise level, hearing protection is required.  Gloves must be worn and changed frequently and continuously throughout the day. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts dependent upon task.
