Job description

Maintenance Manager

Department: Facilities & Operations

Employment Type: Full-Time

Pay: $105k -115K plus benefits.

General Purpose

The Maintenance Manager will have 10 direct reports and oversee the maintenance, safety, and operational reliability of all facility infrastructure, production equipment, and machinery to ensure continuous, efficient operations. This role ensures all equipment is properly maintained, promptly repaired, and fully compliant with safety and regulatory requirements.

Additionally, the Maintenance Manager oversees spare parts inventory to minimize downtime, conducts quality inspections for new or replacement equipment, and ensures all required equipment permits and documentation remain current, accurate, and properly filed.

Essential Functions

  • Preventive Maintenance & Downtime Management:
    • Schedule, coordinate, and document preventive maintenance activities for all facility equipment and machinery.
    • Coordinate with the Production Manager to strategically schedule equipment downtime for routine maintenance and necessary repairs.
  • Inventory & Spare Parts Control:
    • Establish, monitor, and maintain minimum inventory levels for critical wear and spare parts to minimize production downtime.
  • Engineering Projects & Equipment Management:
    • Oversee equipment installations, modifications, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
    • Investigate equipment failures and breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.
  • Team Supervision & Development:
    • Train, mentor, supervise, and support the professional development of hourly maintenance personnel.
  • Documentation & Technical Library:
    • Maintain precise maintenance records, including preventive maintenance schedules, parts usage, repairs, inspections, and daily log activities.
    • Develop, organize, and maintain a comprehensive technical library containing maintenance manuals, diagnostic procedures, operating instructions, equipment drawings, and service history records.
  • Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure a safe working environment and enforce compliance with housekeeping and safety standards.
    • Proactively identify and correct unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Other Duties:
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Education:
    • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of maintenance management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • Demonstrated managerial experience, including employee supervision, scheduling, performance management, and team development.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Working knowledge of core engineering principles, including basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
