Shipper / Receiver - Parts Department

 

BUSINESS UNIT:       Joe Johnson Equipment, operating as Standard Equipment

LOCATION:                Chicago (Elmhurst), Illinois

OPENINGS:                1 Opening Available

TYPE:                          Full-Time (Monday-Friday, Dayshift)

SUMMARY:

The Shipper Receiver will be focused on the shipping and receiving of equipment parts to customers in a timely and accurate manner, in alignment with department procedures. The Shipper Receiver will also assist with the daily operations of the parts department by sourcing and providing parts to the shop and assisting with parts inventory duties. The Shipper Receiver will be responsible for ensuring a clean, organized and safe warehouse.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process/facilitate the shipment of product to customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Receive, locate, and stock parts and sort stock receivables
  • Pick and provide parts to Technicians in alignment using department processes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and work area
  • Maintain an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and parts counting accurately
  • Complete daily cycle counts
  • Deliver or pick up parts locally as required (in company vehicle)
  • Process shop parts, warranty parts and vendor returns
  • Assist in some general facility maintenance
  • Provide additional warehouse backup support as required
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned

        ABOUT YOU:

        • Knowledge of heavy equipment parts is an asset
        • Ability to work well in a warehouse environment and meet daily deadlines
        • Demonstrated team player and willing to assist others when required
        • Strong verbal and written communication
        • Proficient with computers
        • Must be able to lift up to 49lbs. on a frequent basis
        • Must be able to stand, walk and work on concrete/hard surfaces most of shift

        POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

        • High School Diploma or GED preferred
        • Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
        • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check
        • Forklift license considered an asset
        • 5+ years’ experience in a Shipper Receiver role or position in a parts department preferred

        Employees must:

        • Work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation/regulations/safety policies
        • Report any known workplace hazard or safety violations
        • Cooperate with their workplace’s Safety Committee or health and safety representative
        • Use any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing required
        • Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations

        OTHER DETAILS

        Travel Expectations:

        • 20% - 25% locally for deliveries as required
