Job description

About us

The world is electrifying. As we plug in more devices and services, we need new ways to connect to power.

The traditional, one-size-fits-all utility approach — with complicated bills and frustrating customer service — no longer works. At Light, we make it easy to get affordable, renewable electricity by embedding power with the products that consumers already use, from the companies they love.

Light’s mission is to power a sustainable and abundant energy future for everyone. With Light's utility-as-API platform, companies from automakers and solar providers to real estate and beyond can offer their own, integrated electricity plans.

Imagine purchasing an electric vehicle that includes unlimited home charging, or solar panels that come bundled with any excess energy you might need from the grid. At Light, we're creating a flexible future where any company can offer their own branded electricity plans and make clean energy convenient for their customers.

Join us in building the digital energy infrastructure for a dynamic, sustainable future.

The role

You’ll roll up your sleeves alongside the founders and early team to lead how our highest-priority partners build, launch, and scale their embedded energy programs — and to make those programs genuinely strategic for both sides.

Your mission is to own partner growth from implementation through growth. That means more than keeping programs on track — it means understanding your partners’ businesses well enough to show up to their executive leadership planning as a peer, earning access to the stakeholders who own budgets and decisions, and building the lifecycle intelligence that turns our intuitions about what’s working into something we can measure and act on.

You’ll work across both Light’s and our partners’ teams (Product, Engineering, Operations, GTM) to align priorities, drive impact, and build the systems that make our partner motion scalable and repeatable.

In your first six months, you will:
  • Understand the partner's business as if you own it: Know their growth targets, margin drivers, and KPIs by market. Frame every initiative in terms of their goals, not just ours.

  • Build executive relationships deliberately: Map each partner's org, identify where energy decisions get made, and earn access to those stakeholders, proactively, not reactively.

  • Secure internal ownership at priority partners: Identify the right person inside the partner to own energy program outcomes and have a budget line. Work toward that outcome as a strategic objective, not a nice-to-have.

  • Build scalable systems and playbooks: Create the frameworks, dashboards, and QBR rhythms that make partner management repeatable as Light scales.

  • Run lifecycle diagnostics: Map and measure the full customer funnel, from channel attach rates through enrollment, engagement, support, and renewals. Surface the leakage points and lead the fixes.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally: Translate partner lifecycle data into product improvements, operational changes, and GTM initiatives.

  • Own partner success from implementation through growth: Be the primary day‑to‑day contact for priority partners, ensuring launches are on time and programs deliver measurable results.

You would describe yourself as:
  • A commercially‑minded partner owner: You understand your partners’ business models and compete for their priorities with your own insight, not just your product.

  • An executive relationship builder: You earn trust at multiple levels and earn your way into strategic conversations — not just working sessions.

  • An exceptional project manager: You bring clarity, focus, and follow‑through to complex workstreams across multiple organizations.

  • An analytical diagnostician: You work the full funnel, identify where performance leaks, and prioritize the most impactful fixes.

  • An operator and builder: You create scalable systems and processes that make growth repeatable.

  • Entrepreneurial: You navigate ambiguity, build from scratch, and move without waiting for a playbook.

  • Experienced and in Austin: 8+ years of experience and the ability to work 5 days per week in office.
