Partner Success information

What is a partner success?

Partner Success roles focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with a company's business partners. Professionals in these positions ensure that partners achieve their desired outcomes when collaborating with the company, providing support, guidance, and resources as needed. They often act as the main point of contact, helping partners navigate challenges and maximize the value of the partnership. Typical tasks include onboarding new partners, addressing concerns, monitoring performance metrics, and driving mutual growth initiatives.

How does a partner success professional typically collaborate with internal teams to support external partners?

Partner Success professionals frequently work cross-functionally, coordinating with sales, product, and customer support teams to ensure that external partners receive timely assistance and resources. They act as a bridge, communicating partner needs and feedback internally, and aligning company offerings with partner goals. This collaboration helps resolve issues efficiently, drive mutual growth, and foster long-term relationships. Expect regular meetings and joint projects with various departments to ensure partner satisfaction and success.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a partner success manager, and why are they important?

Familiarity with CRM platforms, data analytics tools, and partner management software is typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving abilities, and collaboration skills help you build trust and effectively address partner needs. These competencies are essential for driving partner satisfaction, retention, and mutual business growth.

Job description

Who are we hiring?

The Director, Partner Success is a high-impact role responsible for driving the success, growth, and retention of Sphere's Official Partners within the Sponsorship division. This person will serve as the strategic day-to-day lead for a portfolio of world-class brand partners - ensuring flawless fulfillment, uncovering new values, and delivering insights that fuel upsell, renewal, and long-term partnership health.

This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented leader who thrives at the intersection of client service, operational success, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. The Director will work hand-in-hand with Sales, Venue Operations, Integrated Marketing, Business Operations, Creative, and the Client Services team to deliver white-glove service and measurable results for every partner engagement.

What will you do?

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners while coordinating seamlessly across Finance, Sales, Production, Integrated Marketing, Creative, Business Operations and Client Services.
  • Manage partner inventory across Sphere portfolio.
  • Deliver exceptional, proactive service to commercial partners, ensuring all contractual obligations are fulfilled and partner goals are exceeded.
  • Develop deep knowledge of each partner's business objectives and align Sphere resources to co-create activations that drive mutual value and maximize partnership ROI.
  • Surface new lines of business, upsell opportunities, and activation ideas that inform renewal strategy and deepen partner investment.
  • Lead the campaign reporting process post-activation - partnering with internal teams to compile performance reports, identify successes, and recommend optimizations.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Experience: 8+ years in Sponsorships, Account Management, Partnerships, or Program Management within sports, entertainment, media, or technology - servicing top-tier brand partners. Experience in financial services preferable.
  • Client leadership: Proven ability to manage senior-level client relationships with confidence and strategic acumen in both internal and external settings.
  • Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and analytical communication skills with strong attention to detail and a focus on accuracy. Experienced communicator leading conversations with c-suite and executive level stakeholders.
  • Project management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects on schedule and across competing deadlines.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Track record of building effective interdepartmental relationships and rallying internal teams around partner objectives.
  • Venue Operations: Familiarity with live entertainment, venue operations, event logistics, or in-venue hospitality workflows preferrable.
  • Mindset: Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, a bias toward action, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
