We are hiring PART TIME Behavioral Health Technicians!

The Behavioral Health Technician in our Mental Health Forensic Group Home plays a crucial role in providing specialized care and support for individuals with mental health disorders within a forensic setting. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, the Behavioral Health Technician ensures the well-being, safety, and rehabilitation of individuals of whom may have a history of involvement with the criminal justice system.

1.Week 1 & 3: Mon/Tues 4pm-11pm & Saturday 7a-11p

Week 2 & 4: Sunday 7am-11pm & Thurs/Fri 4pm-11pm

2.Week 1 & 3: Sunday 7am-11pm & Thurs/Fri 4pm-11pm

Week 2 & 4: Mon/Tues 4pm-11pm & Saturday 7am-11pm

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Care

  • Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health disorders in a compassionate and therapeutic manner.
  • Implement and monitor treatment plans as outlined by the clinical team, ensuring individualized needs are met.

Behavioral Management

  • Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and address behavioral concerns, promoting a therapeutic and supportive environment.

Medication Administration

  • Administer prescribed medications as per established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medication schedules.
  • Monitor and document individual's responses to medication, promptly reporting any side effects or concerns to the nursing and medical staff.

Therapeutic Support

  • Assist in facilitating therapeutic group activities, counseling sessions, and skill-building exercises to promote social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to implement evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual's interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Report significant changes in resident's behavior, mental health status, or any incidents promptly to the supervisory team.

Collaborative Teamwork

  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other team members as well as external providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional development.

Safety and Security

  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular checks of the facility to identify and address any potential safety hazards.

Crisis Response

  • Respond effectively to emergencies and crises, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of individualized and staff.
