Responsibilities

The Central Branch YMCA seeks an enthusiastic individual to join our team to work part-time as a Group Fitness Instructor. Searching for instructors for: Chair Yoga Instructor and Tai Chi Instructor. Under the wellness director's supervision, the Fitness Instructor leads classes connecting participants to one another and their wellness goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least one year of teaching experience and be certified by an approved organization.
  • Valid certifications include YMCA, ACE, AFAA, NDEITA, YOGAFIT, or Cooper Institute. Must be able to maintain certifications and other training requirements for the position as outlined.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficiency in group exercise instruction.
  • Must be able to interact with members and guests; excellent human relations skills.
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude serving diverse groups in regard to age, abilities, ethnicity, gender, race, economic status, religion, etc.

Salary: Part-time $13.06-$18.25 hourly

Hours Available: Every other Saturday 11:30am-12:30pm & subbing as needed
