Job description

Help People Encounter God Through Worship
Part-Time Worship Leader | 9–10 hours/week | $20–$22/hour
Love Jesus? Love music? Want an opportunity to lead, create, and grow in worship ministry?
North Point Church is looking for a part-time Worship Leader to help lead our church into meaningful, engaging worship each week.
This could be a great fit for an emerging worship leader, or someone early in ministry who is ready for more responsibility—but doesn’t necessarily have years of professional ministry experience.
What Worship Looks Like at North Point
We want worship to be joyful, authentic, expectant, and centered on Jesus.
For us, great worship isn’t about putting on a concert. It’s about creating an environment where people participate, encounter God, and respond to what He is doing.
Our church includes longtime Christians as well as people who are still figuring out what they believe. We want worship to be a place where both feel invited to engage.
Musical excellence matters to us—but people encountering God matters even more.
What You’ll Get to Do
You’ll have the opportunity to:
Lead worship during our two Sunday morning services.
Lead a weekly rehearsal with a talented and committed volunteer worship team.
Work directly with our Lead Pastor to plan songs, transitions, and the overall flow of each service.
Bring your own musical creativity and ideas to the worship ministry.
Encourage, coach, and develop musicians and vocalists.
Help create worship experiences that invite the whole congregation to participate.
Use Planning Center and multi-tracks to prepare music and communicate with the team.
Help identify and develop other worship leaders.
Be part of occasional special services and church-wide events.
And importantly: you won’t be starting from scratch.
We already have volunteers, equipment, systems, and a supportive staff team in place. You’ll have room to lead without being expected to figure everything out on your own.
You Might Be a Great Fit If...
You genuinely love Jesus and want your life and leadership to reflect that.
You can confidently lead worship vocally while playing an instrument.
You understand music well enough to lead and communicate with a band.
You’re dependable, prepared, and follow through.
You’re comfortable leading people while still being teachable yourself.
You enjoy working with volunteers and helping other people succeed.
You’re creative and would love having some freedom to bring new ideas.
You understand that worship is about the congregation participating—not just the platform sounding great.
You’re comfortable with technology or willing to learn Planning Center and multi-tracks.
You do NOT need a ministry degree or years of church staff experience.
We’re more interested in your character, musical ability, potential, and willingness to grow.
Why North Point?
North Point is a growing church with a mission to make disciples who make disciples.
You’ll be joining a staff that genuinely likes working together. We laugh a lot, celebrate wins, communicate honestly, support one another, and don’t take ourselves too seriously—even though we take our mission seriously.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to gain real ministry leadership experience while being coached and supported along the way.
And because this position is approximately 9–10 hours per week, it can work especially well alongside college classes or another part-time job.
There’s also opportunity for the role to grow over time as our church and worship ministry grow.
The Schedule
You’ll generally need to be available for:
Two Sunday morning services
One weekly evening rehearsal
Weekly service planning and preparation
Occasional staff meetings, special services, or church events
Other preparation hours are flexible and can be arranged with the Lead Pastor.
Compensation
$20–$22/hour, based on experience
Approximately 9–10 hours per week
Interested? We’d Love to Hear from You.
Send us:
A résumé or brief overview of your work, ministry, and worship experience
A short description of your relationship with Jesus and what worship ministry means to you
A link to one or more videos of you leading worship
Two or three ministry, work, or professional references
