  3. Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester

Job Summary:
The Instructional Tutor supports the instructional program by providing direct support to individual students or small groups. This position also helps maintain a safe, positive, and productive learning environment while promoting student engagement, independence, and success.
Responsibilities:
Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to:
- Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce instruction or practice skills determined by the intervention team.
- Adapt materials and activities to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Support students in using technology, manipulatives, and other educational tools.
Student Supervision & Support
- Manage and supervise small groups and individual students while servicing them.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work collaboratively with the intervention team for training, student progress monitoring, and lesson plans.
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
Physical & Environmental Expectations
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, sometimes in varying weather conditions.
- Respond quickly to the needs of students, including in emergencies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma (or equivalent)
- Interest in education as a career is preferred.
- Strong communication, patience, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and adapt to changing needs.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) preferred.
Work Schedule
- Hours at least partially aligned with the school day, including After School Program, with occasional additional time for meetings and training.

Special Conditions:
FWS Off-Campus Instructional Student Assistant/
FWS eligible, enrolled CSU, San Bernardino students are eligible to apply for FWS student employment positions. This position will work off-campus at a designated location receiving direction via a Federal Work Study campus collaborator.
Compensation and Benefits:
Student Employment Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.
The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.
Position Information:
Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am - 5:00 pm).
Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

This is an 'On-Campus Only' position. Student Employees are not eligible to telecommute at any time.

Conditions of Employment
Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check when required may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Driver's License Check
Possession of a valid Driver's License may be required. Employees in this position will be enrolled in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice Program which confirms possession of a valid driver's license and reflects driving record.
