Compensation: $30–$35 per hour

Schedule: Part-time, primary coverage is afterschool support Monday–Wednesday, with hours generally 2:30 PM–6:30 PM

Additional support required two weekends per month (rotating schedule)

Guaranteed Hours: 20 hours per week

Overview:
A warm, busy household in Newburyport is seeking a compassionate and energetic part-time nanny to support two children, ages 15 and 12. Their 12-year-old daughter has cerebral palsy and is globally disabled, requiring attentive, patient, and experienced care, including assistance with mobility support.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide afterschool care, supervision, and engagement for two children
  • Assist with afterschool routines including snacks, downtime, and activity transitions
  • Support personal care for 12-year-old (including diapering, bathing, and mobility assistance)
  • Ensure safety and attentiveness regarding food allergies 
  • Assist with transportation needs as required, including emergency driving if needed
  • Provide weekend care coverage two weekends per month
  • Maintain a calm, structured, and supportive environment
  • Light household management related to the children (tidying child areas, preparing snacks, etc.)
  • Build a strong, positive, and consistent relationship with both children

Requirements:

  • Prior childcare experience required; special needs experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable supporting a child with cerebral palsy and personal care needs
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
  • CPR and First Aid certification required
  • Covid vaccinated
  • Strong reliability, patience, and emotional maturity
