Position: Security Officer: Part-time, 16hours/week
Schedule: Shifts are every weekend, with hours varying between 12pm-8pm and 4pm-12am; additional shifts may arise as-needed (including nights and occasionally holidays)
Pay: Starts at $17.75 per hour, plus night and weekend shift differential

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting community property. The Security Officer is responsibility for verifying the scheduled presence of employees and third-party contractors on the grounds.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
  • Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
  • Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
  • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Other Duties:
  • Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.
  • Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
  • Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • One-year experience in security preferred.

All new hires must be able to pass our preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility. Some of the roles in our community also require that we ask about your vaccination status.
