Do you enjoy early mornings, working with your hands, and have a passion for amazing food prepared from scratch?The Deschutes Brewery Bend Public House is looking for an enthusiastic part-time Baker, who is driven, excels in a fast-paced kitchen, and is committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. A sense of urgency, attention to detail and commitment to quality are required. We are looking for someone with a great attitude that can work effectively in a team-based atmosphere, has effective communication skills, and is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.The right fit will have the highest ability to mix, shape, and bake handcrafted savory breads, crackers, and rolls...just to name a few! Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads (mix/bake/shaping) and/or pastry is required.This a part-time position. Applicants must have weekend availability, scheduled days and hours may vary based on business need. Duties include but are not limited to:Measure and mix ingredients to shape breads, rolls, and dessertsWeigh materials to ensure appropriate quantityCut and mold dough into equal parts to ensure that each batch has a uniform appearanceEnsure that correct quantities of batches are being madeEnsure appropriate storage of baking utensils and suppliesMake sure that baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properlyEnsure compliance with food safety standardsOversee cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipmentRequirements of the position:Previous commercial baking experience with artisan breads and/or pastry requiredThis position primarily works early morning shifts.
