Retail Security Officer - Weekend Morning/Afternoon Shift

Employment Type: Part-Time

Schedule:

Friday - 8:30am-6:30pm

Saturday - 8:30am-6:30pm

Sunday - 8:30am-6:30pm

Pay Rate: $17.00

Position Overview: United Protective Services is hiring a part-time weekend officer for a retail location. This role is centered around being present on the property, keeping an eye on storefront and parking lot activity, and helping maintain a setting where customers and staff feel comfortable. You’ll be interacting with people throughout the shift while also handling routine exterior patrols. Staying aware of your surroundings is important!

Key Responsibilities:

• Show up on time and ready to work in proper uniform.

• Acknowledge customers, visitors, and employees in a polite and professional way.

• Watch for anything out of place and report concerns as they come up.

• Respond to incidents or alarms following site instructions.

• Look into accidents or disturbances and document what happened.

• Keep daily logs and reports clear and up to date

• Stay in contact with the company and site management regarding any issues

• Point out anything that could improve safety or reduce loss

Required Qualification:

• Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly approach

• Ability to stay focused in a retail environment with changing activity levels

• Ability to follow directions and site procedures

• Reliable attendance and punctuality

• Previous security or customer service experience is helpful but not required

Additional details:

• Expect to spend most of the shift standing/walking

• Must be able to stay calm and respond appropriately during emergencies
