Job description

About Blackbird Health

Blackbird Health is clinician-founded, owned, and operated by dedicated professionals. We believe that providing the best care for children starts with building the best possible team. We deliver virtual and in-person mental health services across Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey & Maryland—and we're growing into new markets in 2027.

At Blackbird, we take a whole-child approach, looking at how the brain, body, and behavior interact to address the root causes of challenges, not just the symptoms. Every role matters here, and you'll join a collaborative, supportive, and innovative team that's shaping the future of pediatric mental health care. If you're passionate about helping children and families while growing your career, Blackbird is the place to make an impact.

Join us and help change mental health care for children for the better!

Position Summary

  • W-2 Stability: Part-time employment with full benefits—healthcare, 401(k), and generous paid time off.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside psychotherapists and specialists in a mission-driven environment.
Employment Options
  • Role: W-2 Employee - Part-Time
  • Commitment: 20 hours per week (17 clinical hours + 3 non-clinical hours).
  • Schedule: Weekend Only — Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM ET.
  • Work Model: Fully Remote
Compensation & Benefits
  • Total Earning Potential: Up to $175,000+ annually.
  • Base Salary: $72,500 for the guaranteed 20-hour/week schedule.
  • Additional Earnings: Earn $100 per clinical hour for additional patients beyond your base caseload.
  • Full Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with employer match.
  • Paid Time Off: Generous PTO plus 11 company holidays.
What Makes You, You
  • Mission-Driven: Passionate about transforming behavioral health for youth.
  • Clinically Excellent: Experience working with children/adolescents as a PMHNP; practiced independently at the top of your scope for at least one year.
  • Relationship-Focused: Excel at building trust with families and providing deep patient education.
  • Collaborative: Thrive in team-based environments alongside therapists and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Google Suite, EMR systems, and virtual platforms for telehealth.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Comprehensive Care: Conduct evaluations, assessments, and medication management for the 2–26 age range.
  • Whole-Child Integration: Work with therapists to create treatment plans that address the root cause of behavior.
  • Family Empowerment: Educate parents and caregivers, helping them navigate their child's mental health journey.
  • Clinical Excellence: Oversee diagnostic testing and maintain HIPAA-compliant records.
The Basics You'll Need
  • Education: Master's Degree from an accredited nursing program.
  • Certification: PMHNP-BC certification.
  • Experience: At least one year of independent psychiatric experience working under licensure.
  • Licensure: Active license in PA, VA, NJ, or MD (OR a current license in another state and a willingness to obtain these via Blackbird sponsorship).
