Job description

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Internship

Third Street Family Health is seeking motivated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students to join our clinical team for a hands-on clinical training experience. This placement supports students completing required psychiatric clinical rotation hours within a dynamic, integrated healthcare setting. Clinical experiences and responsibilities are tailored to the student's educational level, clinical goals, and university requirements.

Students will gain experience providing psychiatric assessment, medication management support, therapeutic interventions, and interdisciplinary behavioral health care while developing competencies in psychiatric mental health practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits under supervision.
  • Assist with assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and patient education.
  • Observe and participate in integrated behavioral health services and interdisciplinary care coordination.
  • Document patient encounters in accordance with organizational and academic standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional standards of practice.
  • Complete required clinical rotation and supervision hours for academic credit.
