Escort Representatives 

Allied Universal Canada is seeking professional, dependable, and customer-focused Escort Representatives to join our team at Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport

The Escort Representative is responsible for providing professional escort and access-control services to contractors, vendors, service providers, and other authorized personnel operating within restricted and controlled airport areas. This position plays an important role in maintaining a secure airport environment by ensuring escorted individuals remain within authorized areas and comply with all applicable airport security, safety, and operational procedures. 

Security Clearance Requirements 

Candidates must have resided continuously in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years to meet applicable airport security clearance requirements. 

Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)

valid driver's licence is also required to obtain an Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP)

Position Details 

  • Position Type: Part-Time, Casual 
  • Location: Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, Winnipeg, Manitoba 
  • Number of Vacancies: 5 
  • Pay Rate: $18.95 per hour, plus applicable evening, overnight, and weekend premiums 
  • Shifts: Various shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability required as scheduled 
  • Security Licence: Not Required 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provide professional escort services to contractors, vendors, visitors, and authorized personnel requiring access to restricted or controlled airport areas. 
  • Accompany individuals who require temporary access to secure areas and ensure they remain under appropriate escort throughout their authorized activities. 
  • Monitor escorted individuals to ensure compliance with airport security procedures, access restrictions, and designated routes. 
  • Verify identification, access authorization, and other required credentials before permitting access to restricted areas. 
  • Ensure escorted personnel remain within authorized locations and do not access areas beyond the scope of their authorization. 
  • Maintain a high level of situational awareness throughout airport terminals, gates, baggage areas, airside operations, ramps, and other assigned locations. 
  • Support access control procedures at controlled doors, checkpoints, and designated entry points. 
  • Identify, respond to, and report suspicious activity, security concerns, policy violations, or unauthorized access to the appropriate airport security personnel or supervisor. 
  • Communicate effectively with airport employees, contractors, security personnel, and other stakeholders using radio and other approved communication methods. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including escort logs, incident reports, access records, and other required documentation. 
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical incidents, evacuations, security threats, unauthorized access, and other situations requiring immediate attention. 
  • Follow all applicable airport, company, occupational health and safety, and security policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with passengers, airport employees, contractors, and members of the public. 

Requirements 

  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Must have resided continuously in Canada for a minimum of five (5) years to meet applicable airport security clearance requirements. 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain valid RAIC
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AVOP
  • Ability and willingness to work on various shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and 12-hour shifts
  • Previous experience working in a critical environment, where sound decision-making and appropriate actions can directly impact life safety, security, or business continuity. 
  • Strong conflict-resolution, communication, and de-escalation skills. 
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and making effective decisions under pressure. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. 
  • Physically capable of walking and conducting foot patrols for extended periods. 
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive for prolonged periods. 
  • Customer-focused approach combined with the ability to enforce policies and procedures professionally.
