Job description

Part-Time Courier Driver

MACS is currently looking for a part-time courier driver. We are in need of friendly, customer oriented and safety minded individuals. Hours are 12:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, and 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. There will be a break from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Sunday schedule. Hours are subject to change.

Job Requirements

  • Possess and maintain an acceptable MVR
  • Possess and maintain a clean criminal record
  • Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screen
  • Possess / maintain valid Alabama driver’s license
  • Pass / possess / maintain Department of Transportation Certificate of Medical Fitness
  • Have reliable transportation to and from work
  • Basic computer skills
  • Be able to read and write in English
  • Be familiar with the local area / roads / landmarks
  • Be able to read and follow directions / read a map
  • Follow all local and state traffic laws in areas traveled
  • Possess good customer relations and communication skills
  • Be self-motivated and capable of driving alone for lengths of 6-10 hours at a time
  • Drive long distances per Day, 250 – 450 miles, depending on route
  • Be able to safely operate the following vehicle types: economy car, pickup truck, minivan, cargo van
  • Be able to lift (with hand truck assistance): 50 pounds
  • Be able to drive after dark
  • Be flexible with work schedule / acceptable to change
  • Be familiar with overall vehicle operations and simple repairs while on the road. Thoroughly check assigned vehicle’s fluids, tire pressure, etc. when necessary (at MACS cost). Be knowledgeable and physically able to change a tire if needed.
  • Meet or exceed ALL Deadlines with a 98% on-time accuracy
