Who doesn’t love cake? If you agree that buttercream makes everything a little better, we may have the perfect position for you. Love Cakes by Dorothy Lane Market is our specialty cake. This bustling department is responsible for producing the cakes sold in our Bakery department, as well as creating extravagant wedding cakes and eye-catching special occasion cakes.
We are excited to find the next highly skilled designer to join our team. Experience is a must as we are seeking a highly motivated individual who is versed in the following: assembling and leveling wedding cakes, rolling fondant, base icing, bordering cakes, creating an array of flower designs and characters, and beautiful handwriting skills. Opportunity to show creative work is available through designing cakes not only for custom orders, but for our annual Wedding Showcase. The candidate will be tested for quality of work, as well as speed and efficiency. Other requirements include giving Dorothy Lane Market level of guest experience both in person and during phone and wedding consultations, lifting 50 pounds, and being a team player who can work in a great collaborative environment. Hours include mornings and afternoons, as well as weekends, and will flex with busy seasons.
Qualifications:
