Job Description
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability
Responsibilities of a Part Time Machining Instructor include but are not limited to:
  • Lecture and or Lab instruction for Machine Tool Technology (MTT) courses coving topics such as:
  • Metrology
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Machining
  • CNC Milling and Turning (Lathe)
  • CADD and Additive or Subtractive Manufacturing
  • Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions
  • Develop syllabi and course materials. Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives
  • Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
  • Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
  • Provide advisement to students
  • Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Machining or related engineering field

OR
  • 5 years of relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum requirements, the department encourages applicants with the following credentials to apply:
  • 10 years work experience in Machining and or Manufacturing or Industrial Technologies.
  • 2 years experience teaching in Career and Technical Education.
  • Leadership/ Management Experience
  • Experience teaching on-line/hybrid classes, Canvas
  • Experience creating college curriculum
  • Experience developing an industrial lab in a college setting, such as a Machining, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Technologies
  • Experience working in diverse multicultural situations
  • Community college or technical school teaching experience
  • Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines
  • Industrial Certifications such as NIMS, NC3

Schedule: MTT courses will be primarily taught at the CSN Henderson Campus, and the City of Henderson Debra March Center of Excellence, in-person and may be scheduled during the day, evenings, and or weekends.
Salary: $925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
