BVA Bear's IT Solutions is seeking a Web / Application Support Specialist. This is for a part-time (20 hrs a week) position primarily supporting City of Philadelphia facilities onsite. Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Philadelphia. Limited remote work may be available as appropriate. This is a part-time position, expected to work approximately 20 hours per week. Hours will be scheduled within the City's standard business hours (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday), excluding City holidays. Some flexibility may be required to support City Council meetings, hearings, or transition activities.

The Web / Application Support Specialist is responsible for maintaining and supporting Philadelphia City Council's public facing websites and internal web applications, ensuring system stability, accessibility compliance, and alignment with City digital standards.
This position requires strong attention to detail, experience with web application support, and knowledge of accessibility and documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and support the PHL Council and PHL Veterans websites and Council web applications.
  • Perform content updates, bug fixes, and enhancements in coordination with City teams.
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
  • Assist with controlled releases, testing, and deployment coordination.
  • Maintain technical documentation, application configurations, and change records.
  • Coordinate with creative, technical, and City stakeholders to support updates and improvements.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of web or application support experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting accessibility compliance.
  • Strong documentation and coordination skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting government or public sector digital platforms.
