Overview

The Part-time Warehouse Associate/Driver (Aprox. 24 Hours per Week) is responsible for driving materials and equipment to project locations which are subject to cross state lines and may require overnight stays. This position also supports all aspects the daily warehouse operations. Ability to be insured under Company policy.

Sturgeon Electric’s Commercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical construction division specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects, telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, high voltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. We also offer design-build and pre-construction services and has in-house pre-fabrication and AutoCAD capabilities.

Essential Functions

  • Complete deliveries by processing requests and supply orders
    • Receive and fill orders
  • Responsible for transporting tools and materials to various project locations
    • Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver material
  • Complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging, assembly and transportation of materials
  • Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area, such as racks, shelves, or vehicles
    • May be required to load or unload truck and/or trailers; may be assisted by a helper
  • Complete and maintain inventories
  • Complete warehouse reports by entering required information
  • Maintain safe and secure warehouse environment by adhering to organization standards and practices as well as regulatory requirements
    • Follow company safety policies and procedures
    • Maintain condition of work area (i.e. free of trash, product in correct location, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Experience driving larger vehicles 20’+ up to 26,000lbs GVW
  • Minimum 2 years of warehouse operations experience; experience in electric construction environment is preferred
  • Experience with tool/material tracking databases
  • High school diploma or GED is required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read & interpret documents such as packing lists, shipping manifests, and procedures manuals
  • Basic proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Attention to detail
  • Must be able to operate vehicles with air brakes
  • Must have ability to operate a stake bed with a lift gate

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Heavy lifting is required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $17.00-$24.00 / hour
    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
