Job description

Make an impact every day by providing essential communication access in an educational setting. This part-time contract opportunity is ideal for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter ready to support a middle school student in a 1:1 setting. Located near Pawhuska, OK, this role begins as soon as possible and runs through May 20, 2027, with core hours of 12:00–3:30pm CST. Onsite interpreting is preferred, but there is flexibility for VOCO when needed. As the needs of the student and school may change, there is potential for this assignment to transition to full-time in the future.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) required
  • Experience interpreting for middle school or secondary education settings highly desired
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working 1:1 with students
  • Able to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Open to both onsite and virtual (VOCO) work as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, clear interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in classroom and school settings
