Overview

Unlimited Instruction (UI) is seeking dynamic face-to-face teachers with a passion for supporting students in grades K-12 for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, under the direction of the Unlimited Instruction's team, and the school district, you will create an engaging and safe learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll:

  • Provide specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.
  • Modify and adapt lesson plans for reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science to accommodate students with disabilities in a classroom, utilizing course of study adopted by the appropriate authorities.
  • Translate the lessons into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
  • Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and to interpret the school program.
  • Identify students' needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
  • Develop, implement, supervise, and evaluate Individual Education Programs and instructional classroom programs.
  • Review student files to determine appropriate programming.
  • Supervise students' in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day.
  • Participate in curriculum development programs as required.

Curriculum Development and Instruction: 

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards. 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and participation. 
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. 
  • Integrate technology and other innovative tools to enhance learning experiences. 
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). 

Student Assessment and Evaluation: 

  • Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback regarding academic performance and behavior. 
  • Utilize assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions. 
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). 

Classroom Management: 

  • Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and expectations to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. 
  • Address and manage behavioral issues promptly and effectively. 
  • Create a supportive and respectful classroom culture that fosters mutual respect and cooperation. 
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). 

Collaboration and Professional Development: 

  • Work closely with colleagues, including assistant teachers, special education staff, and administration, to support student learning and development. 
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements. 
  • Lead or contribute to school committees, events, and initiatives as needed. 
  • Submit records related to attendance, student progress, and other UI program requirements on time. 
  • Other Duties as assigned by the Program Manager and/or School Administrator(s). 
  • Attend evening, virtual ILC meetings. 

Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, Science, Social Science or a related field. 
  • Must meet the Content Knowledge standards required for a provisional teaching license; Valid teaching certification in K-12 education preferred; 
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in a K-12 school setting. 
  • Strong understanding of child development and elementary education best practices. 
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. 
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students. 

Work Conditions:

Duties are primarily performed within a school setting. Physical requirements include frequent standing, sitting, walking, and lifting. The role often requires getting up and down from the floor or low seating, assisting students with mobility, and occasionally running or moving quickly to ensure student safety. Additional physical tasks may include helping students with transfers, positioning, toileting, or use of adaptive equipment, as well as supporting students during physical activities or transitions between classrooms. Some assignments are subject to strict deadlines, especially when adapting and delivering programs to meet the needs of diverse student groups. The position involves regular interaction with students and parents who may be experiencing heightened emotional states. Employees are expected to use de-escalation techniques, maintain a calm and supportive demeanor, and implement behavior intervention strategies as needed to ensure a safe and positive environment. Students may exhibit behavioral challenges, including verbal outbursts or physical behaviors such as hitting, kicking, biting, eloping, or throwing objects. Employees must be prepared to respond appropriately to these situations, following established safety protocols and behavior management plans. Employees may be required to provide both emergency and non-emergency health-related services to students, including basic first aid, assisting with prescribed medical procedures, or responding to health emergencies according to school protocols.

Qualifications

As a successful applicant, you must have a passion for helping students succeed. Additionally, you will need to have the following:

  • Three years of experience leading K-12 instruction.
  • Eligible for, or in possession of, appropriate California Teaching Certificate (preferred).
  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching.
  • An understanding and working knowledge of K-5 special education standard.
  • Skills necessary to teach reading in a manner compatible with the curriculum.
  • Be local to the area.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree (degree in education preferred).
Compensation

$40 per hour | Monday-Friday | 8 am-12 pm
