JOB DESCRIPTION

The College of Health Sciences at Oral Roberts University is currently seeking applications for a Program Director and faculty position in Public Health. Currently this position requires establishing the newest degree at ORU. Initial requirements will be for establishing goals and mission of the program, creating program goals and outcomes in alignment with college and university requirements, and curriculum development. Teaching initial course and course revisions along with serving on academic and university committees and attend chapel services. You will also be expected to actively engage in professional presentations and publications and avail yourself of the opportunities for faculty development that are available. It is imperative that candidates demonstrate a Spirit-Empowered Christian commitment and are compatible with the university's honor code of conduct. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Create program mission, goals, and outcome for the program.
  • Establish curriculum process.
  • Assist and direct course writing for the program.
  • Participating in ongoing development, assessments and improvement activities.
  • Create and conduct assessment of current academic integrity of the program.
  • Supervising the full and part-time faculty assigned to the program.
  • Serving on school and university committees.
  • Responsibility for teaching classes in the program.
  • Teach at the undergraduate level in both face-to-face and virtual modalities but could eventually include graduate courses.
  • Student advisory responsibilities.
  • Serve on college and university committees.
REQUIREMENTS

Preferred Experience:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff in diverse academic programs.
  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience at the college/ university level.
  • Commitment to undergraduate education and student success.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/ staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
  • A focus on student- centered pedagogy, integration of technology in instruction, the ability to engage with industry in the classroom are highly desired.

Essential Experience

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Public Health or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in public health practice, evaluation and/ or research.
  • Familiarity with the public health landscape.
