As a member of the Dining Services Department, the individual will work in any of the following positions: front of the house- food production/serving/cashier/barista and back of the house food production.
The Dining Services Hospitality Associate will work with management and co-workers to instill and foster the value of the Villanova Mission Statement and the Dining Services Mission Statement. The individual will focus on our Core Values: Safety and Sanitation, Friendly Courteous Service, and Excellence. All of our associates should improve our systems and overall operation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Set-up, maintain, and break down all service lines. Ability to prepare and/or cook food for cold production and for pizza/grill lines. Stock, rotate and replenish merchandise as needed. Back of the house production includes salad and fruit bars, deli prep, desserts, and commissary items.
  • May work on any of the following stations serving our customers: sandwich/salad/pizza/grill/Holy Grounds areas/register stations.
  • Cleans and sanitizes food equipment and dining room tables and chairs.

NONESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Works special events/weekends as required.
  • Assists in the dish room area if needed including sweeping, mopping, disposing of trash/recycling.
  • Perform additional job duties as directed by supervisor or manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
Work Skills:
  • Basic reading and writing skills; basic communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Practices excellent personal hygiene habits and follows and adheres to uniform standards.
  • Ability to: follow directions and complete assigned tasks, work with minimal supervision, and to interact with people on a constant basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Formal Education:
  • Preferred - High school diploma or equivalent.

Specific Job Knowledge:
  • Preferred - Basic knowledge of food service safety and sanitation.
  • Preferred - Serv Safe Training and Allergy Awareness Training.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
Tools, Machinery, and Equipment Used:
  • Knives, slicers, and all kitchen equipment.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Chemicals used for cleaning.
  • Weather exposure for special events.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push/pull up to 10 pounds independently and up to 40 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to withstand extreme temperatures.
