28 year old client enjoys video games, cooking simple meals, and attending a Dungeons & Dragons group on Fridays and Sundays. He benefits from support that encourages independence, social engagement, and participation in community activities, as he can sometimes self-isolate.
Client needs assistance with maintaining a clean and organized living space due to tendencies toward hoarding, and responds best to motivation, structure, and positive reinforcement.
Client communicates best with clear, direct language and may misinterpret sarcasm at times, which can lead to misunderstandings or triggers. He is not aggressive but may require calm redirection when upset.
Certain topics, including politics (especially President Trump), religion, and dating/personal relationships, should be avoided as they may be triggering or uncomfortable.
The ideal DSP will be patient, calm, experienced with autism support, and able to provide respectful redirection while supporting independence and daily living skills.
