Job Specification The Career Readiness Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of Career Services within the division of Enrollment Management and Student Services. This position provides career readiness support to students and alumni, manages the College's career assessment tool, coordinates career-related programming and events, maintains career pathway resources, and supports graduate follow-up efforts to collect employment outcomes data. The Career Readiness Manager works independently under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management and collaborates with Academic Affairs, Student Services, advisors, faculty, staff, and campus partners to help students connect BPCC programs and credentials to career opportunities.

Job Duties and Other Information Manage the day-to-day operations of Career Services within Student Services and Enrollment Management. Provide individual and group career support to students and alumni related to career exploration, resumes, cover letters, job search strategies, interviewing skills, networking, and professional communication. Coordinate career readiness programming throughout the year, including resume workshops, resume review sessions, mock interview events, employer panels, job search sessions, career exploration activities, and professional skills workshops.

Build partnerships with internal and external constituents to expand offerings, employment opportunities in continuous support of career services. Assist students with identifying career interests, strengths, program options, and possible career pathways. Oversee BPCC's career assessment tool, including setup, maintenance, student access, user support, usage tracking, and ongoing promotion.

Provide training and resources to help advisors, faculty, and student support staff use career assessment results with students. Use career assessment results to help students connect interests and strengths to BPCC programs, credentials, and employment options. Maintain current career resources, including resume samples, interview preparation materials, job search tools, career exploration resources, and labor market information.

Work with Academic Affairs, advisors, and program faculty to maintain career pathway information connected to BPCC programs and credentials. Help students connect academic programs and credentials to career opportunities, salary information, transfer options when appropriate, and employer expectations. Develop student-friendly career pathway resources that advisors can use when helping students explore programs, confirm majors, or understand how credentials connect to employment.

Support the use of career readiness information in advising, student success activities, and enrollment-related communication. Receive, maintain, and share part-time and full-time job opportunities with students, alumni, advisors, faculty, and campus partners as appropriate. Manage Career Services platforms used for job postings, career resources, event promotion, and student engagement.

Plan, coordinate, and host career fairs, with additional targeted events as needed based on student need, program area, or workforce demand. Coordinate event logistics, student promotion, registration, materials, campus communication, and follow-up for career fairs and career-related events. Maintain event participation records and provide summaries of event outcomes, student engagement, and follow-up needs.

Coordinate graduate follow-up efforts to collect employment status, employer information, job title, continued education status, and connection between employment and program of study. Maintain accurate records of graduate employment outcomes and assist with reports for planning, accreditation, grants, workforce initiatives, and leadership review. Prepare regular reports and recommendations related to Career Services activities, student engagement, career assessment usage, event participation, graduate follow-up, employment outcomes, and process improvements.

Remain current on employment trends and career readiness practices, participate in appropriate campus committees and events, and assist with administrative needs. Establish, model, and reinforce strong customer service expectations that support a student-centered, responsive, caring, and professional office culture. Support enrollment efforts through campus tours, recruitment events, orientation activities, registration events, and other student engagement opportunities by helping students connect BPCC programs and credentials to career pathways.
