Job description


General Nature of Work
The purpose of this classification is to monitor activities and provide customer service to the patrons of the Parks and Recreation Department which can include the Ben Robertson Center and the Recreation Center.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position.The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Performs customer service functions in person and by telephone; provides information or assistance regarding Center services, activities, forms, procedures, fees, or other issues; responds to routine questions and complaints; researches problems and initiates problem resolution; refers complaints/problems to appropriate personnel.
  • Processes participant registrations; reviews registration forms for accuracy/completeness; enters information into online database; collects and records fees; maintains related documentation.
  • Schedules facility rentals; receives and reviews facility rental requests and agreements; enters information into facility calendar; collects and records fees; maintains related documentation.
  • Maintains facilities; prepares facilities according to daily schedule; cleans rooms and facilities; moves, sets up, and tears down tables, chairs, etc.; performs routine cleaning of facilities.
  • Opens/closes facility; unlocks and locks doors; turns lights on/off; disarms/sets alarm; empties trash; sweeps floors, etc.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; ensures adherence to established safety procedures; monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals; initiates any actions necessary to correct deviations or violations.
  • Communicates with supervisor, City employees, the public, or other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
  • Prepares or completes various forms, reports, accident reports, rental check lists, or other documents.
  • Receives various forms, reports, registration forms, weekly building/room schedule, facility rental agreements, policies, procedures, catalogs, manuals, rules or other documentation; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.
  • Communicates with supervisor, Town employees, volunteers, the general public, or other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, resolve problems, or give/receive advice/direction.
  • Operates a personal computer, general office equipment, or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED is preferred; supplemented by some experience in customer service or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a Georgia driver's license.
