Job Overview:
ATC Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Registered Nurse (MH RN) to join our team. This role involves providing nursing care in the Root & Rise Program, a DBHDS contract supporting three Mental Health Specialized Group Homes in Richmond, VA. These homes support individuals aged 18-36, transitioning from inpatient psychiatric settings to community-based residential programs. This position requires a nuanced approach to care for individuals with NGRI status and medical comorbidities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide general nursing care services in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, regulatory agencies, and professional standards.
  • Utilize professional nursing processes: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Respond to emergency healthcare needs.
  • Perform health screenings and collect/record health status data.
  • Promote and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Instruct individuals on prescribed treatment methods.
  • Collaborate to develop guidelines/protocols for health, nursing, and nutritional needs.
  • Monitor and direct nursing support personnel in delegated activities.
  • Provide health care instruction related to:
    • Health promotion
    • Illness prevention
    • Disease, injury, or disability management
  • Communicate effectively with staff and individuals to ensure optimal care.
