Agency Driver

Work Schedule: Part-Time, 25 hours per week
(Monday – Friday, 3pm – 8pm; occasional weekend hours)
Pay Rate: $16.50 per hour
Essential Job Duties
  • Serve as a driver for the agencies, which includes, but is not limited to pick-ups, deliveries, transportation of clients, and other designated errands.
  • Conduct transportation duties safely with full compliance to NYS traffic regulations and with specific emphasis on seat belt regulations and no standing in the aisle.
  • Responsible for maintenance of agency vehicle(s) by regularly checking tires, battery, oil fluid levels, service check-ups, alignments, brakes, etc.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.
  • Pick up and drop off consumers at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules.
  • Read maps and/or GPS and follow written and verbal geographic directions.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation systems for passenger comfort.
  • Notify supervisors of any accidents or incidents and are responsible for reporting any perceived defects and/or mechanical problems to the IDD Director immediately.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.
  • Certification in CPR/First Aid is highly desired.

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
  • Familiarity with the city of Rochester geographical and street locations.
  • Demonstrated ability to relate and interact with staff and consumers of diverse cultural, racial, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours.
