Job description

Summary
Transfer knowledge including theory, practical skills, methods, and techniques. Impart practical application of principles, techniques, and software. Other aspects of teaching include; supervision of instructional activities, instructional management, curriculum and course development; and creation of teaching and instructional materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach one or more classes per trimester
  • Collaborate with the department director and faculty in curriculum implementation, student support, and continuous program improvement
  • Ensure curriculum and syllabi are up to date and all classes have relevant materials for the degree program
  • Maintain regular office hours outside of instructional time
  • Participate in department meetings and student success initiatives
  • Participate in course and program learning assessment
  • Maintain industry knowledge
  • Other duties and related projects as assigned
  • Maintain teaching and learning skills by attending faculty development sessions and events

Education:
Master's Degree preferred in a Related Field or Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree is only acceptable with extensive industry experience.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience working as a professional in the audio industry
  • Teaching experience in an academic or professional setting is preferred
  • Experience working with industry-standard audio software such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar DAWs for creating sound design, music production, or audio mixing for games, film, or interactive media
  • Proficient in audio recording, audio editing, audio mixing, and sound synthesis

The following experience is a plus but not required:
  • Knowledge of audio implementation within game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity, and/or middleware like Wwise or FMOD, for interactive audio in games and other media.
  • Familiarity with game engine audio pipelines, including integration of spatial audio, real-time effects, and adaptive sound design.
