Job description

This position is responsible for providing nutrition management services in an outpatient and inpatient setting. The position will work as part of a care team at UNLV Health, working with faculty, residents, and students.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please Note: UNLV Health does not provide employment sponsorships or sponsorship transfers for any positions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics or related field required
  • Completion of dietetic internship and trainee program or equivalent required
  • Certified Nutritionist Specialist Certification preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducts assessments, plans and implements diet recommendations to children with special health care needs
  • Selects the appropriate feeding modality for the patient and accurately calculates nutritional needs. Changes to the nutrition plan of care are made according to findings in a timely fashion
  • Provides Nutrition consultation in the assigned interdisciplinary specialty clinics
  • Assumes a proactive role with patient/family education and patient/family satisfaction in the practice setting
  • Assumes personal accountability to enhance the patient experience by using high quality, patient satisfaction-directed interactions/tools/activities in the execution of duties
  • Always interacts with patients and families in a compassionate and respectful manner, at all times
  • Documents nutrition care plans and recommendations and ensures timely availability of information for inclusion in the interdisciplinary care plan
  • Participates in training of staff, students, and residents; and as requested by Department Manager, mentors, and provides education on areas of expertise

  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds
