Being a Part Time Outpatient Therapist has its advantages!

  • Free Clinical supervision twice a month to support development
  • Growth and Development across service lines
  • Collaborative work with an integrated treatment team of clinicians, clinical supervisors, funders, case managers, and program administrators
  • Rate: Billable hours-$37/hr, Non-billable hours-$18.50/hr

As an Outpatient Clinician at Devereux Community Services you will be involved in conducting individual and family therapy in an office location with flexibility in scheduling your appointments. This position allows clinicians the opportunity to work with individuals ranging in age from 2 to 21 years old, depending on enrollment through a school district, with a wide range of clinical diagnoses.

Specific responsibilities of an Outpatient Therapist include:

  • Completes intakes as necessary and delivers individual and family therapy for a minimum of 10 hrs. per week.
  • Creates initial resiliency plan within 3 sessions and ensures proper documentation is complete.
  • Reviews all Psychiatric evaluations and recommendations are being followed.
  • Assists in hospitalization if required.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders,intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern, Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services,community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:  Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work

EXPERIENCE:  Previous experience conducting individual and/or family therapy, preferably with children and adolescents, required.  Requires strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and computer skills.  Must be adaptable to changing workload, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and available to work a flexible work schedule.  Must have the ability to travel to and from work site, and be at least 21 years of age.  Proficient computer skills and a working knowledge of software programs (i.e. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
