We Are Hiring: Part-Time & PRN Openings
Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
  • Location: Southwoods Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation - Calcutta, Ohio
  • Status: Part-Time & PRN (As Needed)
  • Hours: Daytime hours only. No evenings. No weekends.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT)
Summary: The Physical Therapist performs patient-centered evaluations and treatments that meet company, federal, state, and local standards and regulations.
  • Essential Duties:
    • Clinical Evaluation: Reviews physician referrals and medical records to determine treatment needs; performs comprehensive evaluations of strength, motor development, and functional capacity.
    • Plan of Care: Develops and revises medically prescribed treatment plans to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability.
    • Collaboration: Confers with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to integrate physical therapy with other aspects of the patient's healthcare.
    • Supervision: Provides appropriate supervision for PTAs, students, and unlicensed personnel in accordance with state and federal requirements.
    • Documentation: Maintains accurate patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements and facility time standards.
    • Patient Education: Provides information regarding post-op recovery, physician protocols, and home exercise programs.
  • Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
    • Current or pending Ohio State PT licensure.
    • AHA BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
    • Experience in an outpatient therapy setting preferred.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT (PTA)
Summary: The PTA performs patient-centered treatments under the direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the established plan of care.
  • Essential Duties:
    • Treatment Execution: Administers physical therapy treatments to restore function and relieve pain following the plan of care established by the PT.
    • Team Communication: Regularly confers with the supervising PT and the interdisciplinary team to discuss patient progress and relevant clinical information.
    • Documentation: Completes clinical documentation accurately and within the timeframes set by facility standards.
    • Education: Instructs patients and families on treatment plans, post-op processes, and home exercise programs.
    • Supervision: Provides oversight for PTA students and unlicensed personnel according to regulatory requirements.
    • Professionalism: Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling to meet patient needs and participates in facility in-services or training programs.
  • Qualifications:
    • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
    • Active Ohio State PTA licensure.
    • Current AHA BLS certification.
    • Experience in an outpatient therapy setting preferred.
